Direct Access for Physical Therapy Starts September 1st!

Physical Therapy Associates – We help the people of West Texas move and feel better, even if they have failed other treatments, so that they can return to the active lifestyles they love!

PT Associates wants to be your #1 choice for rapid recovery from pain and / or injury. We help you Get Better Faster!

Our company was founded in 2000 by Liesl Olson, PT. We have helped thousands of patients from Texas and New Mexico eliminate pain and return to the activities they love. We primarily treat orthopedic and sports injury cases, but also treat balance and dizziness and a variety of other musculoskeletal conditions.

Initially, a patient is thoroughly evaluated to determine the source of pain or dysfunction. An explanation of potential contributing factors to the pain is discussed with the patient. After the evaluation, the plan of care is developed and agreed upon to optimize that patient’s recovery. For the best results, we expect the patient to take an active role in their recovery.
When dealing with pain and injury, people often have 3 main options. A.) Ignore it and hope is goes away B.) Alter it by changing your participation in daily activities C.) Address it by taking an active recovery approach with the experts at Physical Therapy Associates.

Some of the innovative treatments we use to offer such rapid recovery are: Manual Therapy, Joint Manipulation, Soft tissue treatments, Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy. These treatments, combined with specific tissue focused rehab, offer our patients accelerated healing versus someone that chooses to ignore or alter their pain.

Beginning September 1st, 2019, Texas Physical Therapists have been granted Direct Access for patient care. What does this mean for you? It may enable you to get treatment from your Physical Therapist without having to first get a referral from a doctor.** This means potential time and cost-savings to help you Get Better Faster! In states with Direct Access, studies have shown that a patient with low back pain that receives PT prior to having and MRI is likely to save an average of $4,500 per course of care. We have great relationships with our local physicians and there are cases where you will need to be referred to your physician.

If you have more questions about how Physical Therapy Associates can help you Get Better Faster, call our office at 806.792.5522. As a complimentary service to you, we offer reports on a variety of conditions that we treat and what successful treatment with Physical Therapy looks like.

"I have had the opportunity to have therapy at other places but Physical Therapy Associates far exceeds the other places I have been. The staff is always friendly and show concern for your well being. When I started therapy after back surgery, my muscles felt very weak and the simplest activity tired me quickly. Burt Frank is an outstanding therapist and worked with me to strengthen my back and core muscles. He always motivated me to exceed my own expectations. I completed therapy this week and my back feels so much stronger. I can do more each day and have more stamina than when I started. Thank you Burt for all your work with me! With work at home I feel I will continue to feel stronger."

"After rotator cuff surgery, I received excellent care from my therapist Lex Gillean. The entire staff from the front desk to my therapist provided the care I needed to recover my strength and range of motion. Thank you Physical Therapy Associates!"
